General Gan Pampols defends Mazón after removing salary cap: “I have rights to remuneration”

The recently appointed second vice president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Lieutenant General Francisco José Gan Pampols, defended this Thursday the decree of Carlos Mazón which eliminates the salary ceiling for civil servants who become senior government civil servants. A decision which has today sparked great controversy since the measure Camouflaged in the DANA aid programwhile the Valencians continue to suffer the ravages of their terrible management during the worst cold spell of the century in the Community.

General Gan Pampols, who is one of those who will benefit from this measure, told laSexta that he had “certain remunerative rights. “I have an administrative career of 44 years, I have consolidated the rights to remuneration and in the general administration of the State the rights to remuneration consolidated are always respected“, he justified, who insisted that “people are always” his priorities at the moment.

The general assumed the vice-presidency for economic and social recovery a few days ago, a position created specifically for reconstruction of Valencia after the devastating DANA which caused more than 220 deaths and serious damage. However, one of the first measures approved by the President of the Generalitat was the removal of the salary cap, as well as the “15% limit”. The latter meant that regional councilors and secretaries could not receive a salary higher than 15% of Mazón’s.

He will charge 92,000 euros per year

This is in fact a decree adapted to Gan Pampols for which he would earn more than 92,000 euros per yeara salary that your regional secretary will also receive. In fact, his salary is higher than that of the President of the Government himself, Pedro Sánchez, who won the year exceeded 90,010.20 euros annual.

The salary focused the debate this Thursday in the Valencian Community. The opposition reproached him and Mazón during this Thursday’s plenary session at the Corts Valencianes. The Valencian PSOE was the harshest, criticizing that the first thing it did was “increase your salary.

Carlos Mazón, for his part, defended that “There is no salary increase“in the new Consell and that this question is, in his opinion, “a sterile controversy.” Mazón made these statements upon his arrival at the Corts, accompanied by Vice President Gan Pampols to undergo the control session at the Consell this morning.

“There is no salary increase, The remuneration rights of civil servants must be maintained, because it is the dedication of a lifetime. This is a sterile controversy”, assured the president. Asked about the resignation request that the PSPV-PSOE and Compromís are demanding from the opposition, the president insisted: “I give everything, day after day, without respite. “.
