The Prosecutor General’s Office of Belarus granted the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation to extradite a Russian citizen to face criminal charges for complicity in fraud committed by a group of persons on an especially large scale. This was reported today, November 28, by the Belarusian department.
According to the materials of the criminal case, in 2022 the defendant helped a criminal group that was engaged in the theft of funds from a leasing organization.
“As a result of illegal activities, a legal entity suffered damage in the amount equivalent to 5.5 million Belarusian rubles. On behalf of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus, the Department of Execution of Sentences of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus handed over the accused to the competent authorities of the Russian Federation.” – says the message.
