The supreme leader of Iran, Ali Khameneiurged Muslims around the world this Saturday to support the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah, after recent Israeli bombings against the suburbs of Beirut which reportedly caused the death of the Lebanese movement’s leader Hasan Nasrallah.
“The massacre of defenseless people in Lebanon has once again revealed to everyone the ferocity of Zionist mad dog and demonstrated the short-sightedness and stupid policies of the leaders of the usurping regime (Israel),” the highest Iranian authority said.
“It is obligatory for all Muslims we proudly support the Lebanese people and Hezbollah with its resources and help it confront the usurping, cruel and perverse regime [Israel]“This is what the Iranian Supreme Leader insisted in a statement published on his website.
Khamenei also warned that the Lebanese people will make “the aggressor and the evil enemy” repent, adding that the fate of this region Resistance forces led by Hezbollah will decide.
Jaimeneí reacted this way to Israel’s attacks this Friday against a residential building in the suburbs of Beirutwhere Hezbollah headquarters was located and where, according to the Israeli army, Nasrallah died.
Hezbollah has not yet indicated the whereabouts of its leader, following the attacks which left at least six people dead and 91 injured.
Iran, Israel’s bitter enemy, leads the informal anti-Israel alliance.Axis of resistancecomposed among others of Hezbollah, Palestinian Hamas and the Houthis of Yemen.
Tehran supported these allied groups during the nearly year-long war in Gaza and accused Israel of committing “war crimes.”
“The terrorist gang that runs the Zionist regime (Israel) has not learned the lessons of its year-long criminal war in Gaza and has failed to understand that massacre women, children and civilians cannot affect the solid structure of the resistance and destroy it,” he said.
