Russian Foreign Ministry condemns liquidation of Nasrallah

In its statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports that on the afternoon of September 27, the Israeli Air Force launched a series of attacks with heavy aerial bombs against densely populated areas in the south of Beirut. According to the IDF, the target was the main operational command headquarters of the Hezbollah movement. This is commented on in the official message of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On the same day, Israeli planes massively bombed the southern neighborhood of the Lebanese capital, where weapons depots were supposedly located. As a result of the attacks, residential buildings were completely destroyed and dozens of civilians were injured. The exact number of deaths is still being determined and debris is currently being removed.

“On the morning of September 28, the Israeli military command officially confirmed the liquidation of Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah, who led the organization for more than 30 years. “Hezbollah itself also confirmed the death of its leader,” the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

The international community condemned Israel’s actions, saying the operation could further escalate tensions in the Middle East and have serious consequences for Lebanon. Official statements warn of a possible increase in violence and call for an immediate cessation of hostilities.

Responsible members of the international community must make efforts to prevent a large-scale confrontation in the region.

Previously, Kursor reported that on Friday, September 27, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held talks with Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bu Habib on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. The Russian diplomat condemned Jerusalem for “war crimes” and expressed his condolences for the death of “innocent people.”
