Two of the hurt in the deadly explosion during which three workers lost their lives in two factories Ibi (Alicante) this Wednesday they were discharged while three others remain hospitalized with a guarded prognosis: those transferred to the Doctor Balmis hospital in Alicante and La Fe in Valencia – both with burns– and one of the three transported to the Virgen de los Lirios Hospital in Alcoy, as reported by the Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU).
Following a boiler explosion at the Climber company, three men died – including a driver from the neighboring company Ibipal – and five other people were injured to varying degrees. More precisely, a 47-year-old man, referred to Alcoy hospital for multiple trauma, was injured; two men, aged 49 and 57, transferred to the same hospital for bruises; a 43-year-old man admitted to Doctor Balmis for burns and another 31-year-old man hospitalized in La Fe also for burns. Two other women, aged 21 and 25, suffered minor injuries and were transported to the health center in a Basic Life Support ambulance.

The disaster occurred around noon in a warehouse on Murcia Street, in the industrial zone of Ibi, when a boiler exploded, collapsing part of the factory, the roof and the walls of the company.
Several people who were on board the ship, three, remained trap for the debrisaccording to the Provincial Firefighters Consortium. Part of the roof was thrown off by the explosion and hit the adjacent warehouse.

In statements to the media on site, the government delegate of the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, confirmed that two of the deceased workers belong to Climber, where the accident occurred, and another to the neighboring company Ibipal. The employees made a human chain to remove the debris from the first of the companies.

The damaged company is dedicated to the manufacture of containers and packaging by molding expanded polystyrene and, at the time of the explosion, it had 39 employees within the facilities. For its part, the adjacent warehouse, Ibipal, manufactures and recycles pallets. The organic unit of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard took charge of the investigation into the incident.
