The Federal Executive Commission of the PSOE established this Thursday a steering committee for the party in Madridafter receiving last Wednesday the resignation of its until now secretary general, Juan Lobato Gandarias. The formation made it public through a press release in which it informed that it will be chaired by Isaura Leal.
In accordance with federal laws and the federal development regulations, the decision to create a management commission comes automatically in the event of resignation of the general secretary, because it is a position elected by a primary process by individual and secret vote of activism.
Loyal is currently Congressman and Lower House Board Member and he has already led the transition after the resignation of former PSOE-M secretary general José Manuel Franco following the debacle of the 2021 regional elections.
In addition to having Leal as president, the steering committee, formed this Thursday at seven o’clock in the afternoon, will have as members: José Manuel Franco, Cristina González, Fernando Fernández Lara and Tatiana Jiménez.
The steering committee will temporarily assume the management functions of the PSOE-M for ensure the normal functioning of the organizationexplains the press release, until the celebration of the process which gives rise to the election of the General Secretariat and the Regional Executive Commission after the celebration of its Regional Congress.
“We assume this important responsibility with the aim of strengthening the unity, transparency and normal functioning of the PSOE of Madrid and guarantee their internal democratic processes and active participation at a key moment such as the celebration of the 41st Federal Congress which will begin tomorrow in Seville”, declared the steering committee.
