Edmundo chooses Madrid after his exile for his first mass bath in front of thousands of Venezuelans: “President!”

More than 370 cities around the world, according to the former mayor of Caracas, Antonio Ledezma, mobilized this Saturday to show their support for Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia and the Unitary Democratic Platform (PUD) two months after their electoral victory at the polls of Venezuela. The demonstration in Madrid stood out by being chosen by Edmundo Gonzalez take his first mass bath in front of thousands of Venezuelans shouting “president!”.

A mobilization that exceeded their expectations in the Spanish capitalwhere the winning candidate of the elections in Venezuela went into exile following “pressure” from the Maduro regime. Wrapped by Isabel Díaz Ayuso, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, Miguel Tellado, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo and other members of the People’s Party at the Gate.

Over the past three weeks, the Congress of Deputies, the European Parliament and other international organizations have recognized González Urrutia as “president-elect” in the Venezuelan elections. Something that gave it strength mass appeal which was celebrated simultaneously around the world.

She was leader of the opposition in Venezuela, Maria Corina Machadomain promoter of these demonstrations under the slogan “We won on July 22, let’s defend it on September 28”. A way to celebrate the anniversary of that day when “we told Maduro, you leave, and we will destroy him”. “Now we must defend our victory.”

In Spain, according to data from Venezuelan opponents, more than 500,000 compatriots are exiled. It is for this reason that many expectations to mobilize the people against Maduro have turned to Madrid, where the leaders of the Popular Party have dedicated themselves to defending Edmundo González as legitimate president.

They have already done it with the global mobilization called on August 17, and they are doing it again today. The spokesperson for the Popular Group in Congress, Miguel Tellado, the assistant secretary of the Popular Party Organization, Carmen Fúnez and the deputy spokesperson for the PP, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, are some of the known faces.
