They resume the search for missing people after the overturning of a canoe in El Hierro

Rescue teams resumed the search for victims this morning at eight a.m. local time. 54 people missingYes after a canoe overturned this Saturday off the island of El Hierro, where nine people died. Three air assets and three maritime assets make up the search system, as EFE was informed by Maritime Rescue sources.

A coastal boat around the island, while the rest of the media focused on the area where the sinking occurred6.4 kilometers from El Hierro. In total, a maritime rescue ship, a Red Cross ship and a Civil Guard patrol boat are at work. There are also three air assets: two from the Civil Guard and one from the Canary Islands government which are rotating.

The device finished working last night around 8 p.m. and returned to work today at 8 a.m. Canary Islands President Fernando Clavijo announced yesterday that emergency teams do not expect to recover any more bodies of those who fell overboard last night when a canoe capsized in El Hierro for up to three dayswhen they came afloat.

Fernando Clavijo, however, stressed that They will maintain rescue effortswho will move towards the east of the island, following the maritime currents, in order to locate the 54 people missing.
