The works council of Alcoa confirmed that ultimately the bilateral meeting with the company will take place on December 2 in the San Cibrao factory, in the municipality of Cervo (Lugo).
Initially, Alcoa proposed a meeting in Madrid for this Wednesday, November 27a question rejected by workers, so a new date was set for the second day, Monday. The committee therefore requested that the meeting be held on the factory premises.
In this sense, the commission stressed, in a press release, that next Monday’s meeting, between business and workers, “has nothing to do” with the meetings to monitor the viability plan.
Alcoa follow-up meeting
Furthermore, the works council reminded the president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, “commitment” to attend the follow-up meeting to be held on December 9 in Madrid.
All this, after Rueda, this Thursday, promised to be present if the Minister of Industry, Jordi Hereuand the new Minister of Ecological Transition, Sara Aagesen.
The works council stressed that both the presence of Rueda and that of the ministers would “clarify” the position of the Administrations on the factory and the “future” of A Mariña Lucense.
