A bill proposing to introduce a ban on the display and sale of alcohol in the common area of a retail establishment has been submitted to the State Duma. The document is published in the database of the lower house of parliament.
The author of the initiative is a State Duma deputy from the LDPR. Andrei Svintsov. In an explanatory note, he indicated that alcohol is now placed in almost all grocery stores in such a way “that it is impossible to miss.” The deputy also noted that all marketing actions lead to a large number of spontaneous purchases of alcohol.
“This bill proposes to prohibit the display and sale of alcoholic beverages in the common area of a retail establishment. The bill proposes to determine the possibility of selling alcoholic beverages in a stationary retail establishment located in an urban settlement, exclusively in separate specialized places (buildings, premises, apartments, sections), so that the places of placement and sale of alcoholic products are located separately. of the places of placement and sale of other types of merchandise”, – indicated in the document.
It is also proposed to prohibit access to these premises for people under 18 years of age.
“The bill establishes that during the retail sale of alcoholic beverages in a stationary retail establishment, special places must be allocated so that the demonstration of alcoholic beverages is carried out separately from other types of products and goods. And the demonstration site was not accessible for direct, barrier-free viewing by customers from those areas of the retail establishment where other products and goods are sold.” — follows from the explanatory note, reports TASS.
