THE Group of brotherhoods and brotherhoods of Cordoba was published in response to the note from the City Hall of Cordoba in which it was announced this Sunday that the celebration of festivals in the Center and the Historic Center would be prohibited after the problems that occurred in recent weekends with the bottle and others uncivil events in the surrounding streets.
The brother entity opposed the decision of the mayor Jose Maria Bellido to prohibit and reject criticism targeting the brotherhoods as being “responsible” for these events. “It is not fair that brotherhoods are held responsible for uncivil behavior made by people who do not participate or collaborate in the events we organize. The brotherhoods are not responsible for behavior unrelated to our activities,” they said in a note.
They explain that these festivals aim to preserve the feeling of fraternity between neighbors and raise funds to maintain the heritage of each brotherhood, as well as continuing “our social workof vital importance to the well-being of those who need it most.
In this sense, they made it clear that they were “the first interested in ensuring that the uncivil concentrations that occur in our environment are eliminated.” But they emphasize the responsibility of the local police and the town hall itself, who are “those who have the responsibility of maintaining order and ensuring compliance with municipal regulations”.
“We firmly believe that the solution does not lie in banning our coexistence activities. On the contrary, it is necessaryprevent people outside the celebrations from breaking the regulations and change the order”, they insisted. Finally, they reiterated their “commitment to coexistence and a good atmosphere in our activities”.
