The Central Election Commission of Abkhazia approved the calendar of activities for the preparation and holding of the republic’s presidential elections, scheduled for February 15, 2025.
From December 17, 2024 to January 6, 2025, the registration of initiative groups and political parties and the nomination of candidates for the presidency of Abkhazia will take place.
Within 10 days from the date of submission of documents, but no later than 30 days before the election, presidential candidates must be registered by January 16.
Ten days before the election, beginning February 5, voter lists will be presented to the public and voters will be notified of the time and location of the vote.
On February 13 and 14, the electoral commissions of the electoral districts will deliver the voting papers.
The presidential elections will be held on February 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Within three days after the elections and until February 18, the results will be summarized and a protocol on the election results will be signed.
Within three days following the signing of the protocol, the electoral results will be published.
A repeat vote can be scheduled no later than 14 days later.
