In Krivoy Rog, Dnepropetrovsk region in Ukraine, as part of the decolonization law, a monument to the Russian writer Leo Tolstoy was dismantled.
Previously, monuments to Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Lermontov and Maxim Gorky had already been demolished in Krivoy Rog.
In the summer of 2024, the names of 135 objects associated with the USSR or the Russian Empire were changed in this city, and in total in the Dnepropetrovsk region more than 290 names were changed.
