Castilla y León recorded a surplus of 544 million euros, representing 0.72 percent of GDP, at the end of September 2024, according to data from the Ministry of Finance. This figure is almost seven tenths more than for the same period of 2023, when a positive balance of 48 million euros was recorded, or 0.07 percent of GDP.
Overall, regional administrations record a surplus at the end of September 2024 of 6.017 million, which is equivalent to 0.38 percent of GDP, compared to the deficit of 0.23 percent reached during the same period of the previous year. This result is due to an increase in spending of 7.2 percent, while income increases by 12.7 percent compared to September 2023. Taxes increased by 14.5 percent to 75,945 million.
Within them, taxes on production and imports reach the figure of 15.523 million. For his part, Income and wealth tax revenues increase by 16.9 percent reaching a total of 58.158 million, of which 47.472 million correspond to advance payments made for personal income tax carried out by the State, with an increase of 14 percent.
Revenues from capital taxes amount to 2,264 million euros. Transfers between Public Administrations reach 103.706 million. From the previous amount, transfers received from the State through the financing system increase by 17.2%, reaching 80.513 million at the end of September 2024.
At the same time, the income obtained from the rest of the resources amounts to 15.724 million euros, which represents an increase of 4.5 percent compared to September 2023. Among the expenses, compensation of employees increases by 6.7 percent to 78.192 million.
Intermediate consumption increased by 6.5 percent to 30.755 million. Subsidies amount to 3.378 million, with an increase of 4.4 percent compared to the end of September 2023, mainly due to increased product subsidies. For their part, interests increase by 22.2 percent to 5.429 million.
Deficit of all administrations
The deficit of all public administrations amounted to 25.893 million euros in the first nine months of the year, representing an increase of 1.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year , although a decline was recorded in the percentage equivalent to GDP from 1.71 percent to 1.63 percent.
