Unforgettable performance: traces of Sakhavat Mammadov’s musical legacy

A Generosity has passed from this world. He left deep marks on hearts with his unique voice and irreplaceable humanity. Its location is visible everywhere. The songs he sings always resonate in the ears…

“Caspian” The newspaper commemorated Sakhavat Mammadov with his artistic friends on the eve of the singer’s memorial day, September 30.

“Generosity’s life passed with me. At the age of 15 we studied at the Asaf Zeynalli Music School, we became friends. First we became fellow students, then artists, and then family friends,” recalls popular artist Mohlat Muslumov. .

“We have toured foreign countries and participated in countless festivals together. We have traveled for 23 years. During these years, we have accomplished a hundred years of work.”

M. Muslimov says that Sakhavat also had great human qualities: “There are many great artists, but not all singers are lucky enough to be both a beautiful artist and a good person. Sakhavat was a great artist. He thought more about his friends and family. He didn’t take care of himself, he helped the people around him. He didn’t have the opportunity to help, but when he saw that someone was not there, he went to look for them.

M. Muslimov says that the peculiarity of Sakhavat’s art is that he did not imitate anyone: “He came to art as himself, from the first day he appeared on the stage he became his own signature. Even now, young people imitate him. But he got his way. Sometimes singers say, “I don’t drink cold water, I don’t eat spicy food, I haven’t slept well, that’s why I can’t read,” they say. But I used to read when I was sleepless and. sick. I remember we went to Nicaragua in April. He drank ice water and sang in such a hot climate. Sakhavat lived only 38 years, but this life is 100 years old to do what he did in music.”

Tarzan says that Generosity was often invited to parties because of his artistry and humanity: “He saw that someone wanted him to sing at his son’s wedding, but he was poor. He said, ‘Go, you don’t need anything, I’ll help you.'” come.” He always kept his promise. Once the villages When a poor woman said she wanted her son’s wedding, he came to Sakhavat and said, “I will go.” He gave it to the musicians he had with him. Is there a person like him who was loved both in life and in absence? Is he known and loved in other countries too. Even now they keep saying “tell your memories about him”, says M. Muslimov who cannot forget the tragic death of his. artist friend: “The death of generosity leaves a wound in our hearts. There is not a day that I do not remember.”

People’s artist Mansum Ibrahimov considers the late singer irreplaceable: “Sakhavat Mammadov is an unforgettable artist. The mugams, folk and composer songs that he sang are always in the memory of our people. Every time we listen to his performance, we are saddened by the loss of “Because he was a singer whose soul was loved by the people, he is happy that the land of Aghdam, where he was born, is free.”

“I have known Sakhavat since 1976. Habib Bayramov, Sakhavat and I met when we participated in the hand-in-hand party in “Kubinka”. Then I accompanied him until the end of his life,” recalls the Kamanchaist, folk artist Fakhraddin Dadashov.

Sakhavat’s art was as great as himself. Their friendship was also invaluable. Sakhavat was a singer with a lot of heart. When he sang on stage, you trusted him, you knew he would elevate the art. Sakhavat ate ice to cool down due to the extreme heat. “Your voice will be ruined,” he replied, “I don’t need it.” Then we made long tours through India, through Israel. After studying in Israel, people came and bowed to his art. I witnessed Sakhavat’s great love for art.”

F. Dadashov also remembers El’s love for the singer: “Sakhavat was a generous man. He held the hand of a friend. Sometimes he shared the money he earned at El’s parties, leaving nothing for himself. He never sold his art for money. Me and Mohlat went to so many Karabakh weddings that we knew him as a white person. I was not jealous of his friends. We recorded the song “Külek” by heart. I even accompanied him at the beginning and in the middle of the song. Now, those songs are heard in the air, and he sang them in his own way. “He left the art orphaned.”

It should be noted that a mugam night dedicated to the memory of Sakhavat Mammadov will be held at the Heydar Aliyev Palace on October 24. On this day, artistic friends and young singers will go on stage, talk about Sakhavat Mammadov and perform his songs. In the spacious hall of the palace you will hear “Wind”, “Ay Čicek”, “Yar will visit us”, “Uca daglar”, sung by Sakhavat with enthusiasm and a unique voice. The singer’s soul will find solace in these songs. He will fly like a free bird and join his homeland of Karabakh, Agdam, where he was born.
