Cuenca City Hall is working on a municipal ordinance to ban alcohol bottles, “with the aim of protecting public health and the use of public spaces, and avoiding misuse of streets that could harm citizens in general and affect their rights. According to councilor Alberto Castellano, “dialogue will be the general tone of this process, as has been the habit in this government team.”
Initially, the recently created District Councils will be convened, as well as “all the actors who have something to say, including political groups, neighborhood associations and any other group that can collaborate to build together this new standard of consensual and born from dialogue“.
