The Norwegian government is considering building a fence on the border with Russia.
Oku.Az According toleta.ru, this was stated by the country’s Minister of Justice, Emily Mel.
Norwegian authorities want to build a fence after Finland made a similar decision.
“This is a measure that may be relevant for the entire border or some of its parts,” the politician clarified.
Mel explained that the border fence is not only a deterrent, but the fences also have sensors that can be used to detect people.
Norway’s border with Russia is about 200 kilometers. There is only one crossing point on the border: Borisoglebsk in the Murmansk region (Storskog on the Norwegian side).
Fencing work continues on Russia’s border with Finland.
