The Socialists began the 41st Federal Congress this Friday in Seville, described as “unity” by senior party officials, who avoided talking about the legal investigations in which several members of the party are immersed.
The objective has been set for weeks: “We have come to strengthen Pedro”, declared upon their entry the general secretaries of the different federations and the government ministers.
On Sunday, the territorial renewal will be activated to rearm the party for the general, regional and municipal elections of 2027 and Sánchez will be re-elected for a fourth term. This was the road map until the numerous judicial investigations highlighting the party leaders were revealed.
Socialists have expressed their reservations about the latest judicial decisions that affect both the president’s wife, Begoña Gómez, and his brother, David Sánchez, and believe that it is not a coincidence that they took place a few days before the Seville Congress.
