A shower of stars over the northern lights of the Malgrats Islands (Calvià), signed by Rubén Molinawon the first prize, worth 500 euros, in the competition “My favorite place”. A photograph taken in the town of Garralda in Navarre also received recognition.
This is a tourism promotion competition on Instagram aimed at raising awareness of special corners of Spain. Through their images, the candidates for the competition different rewards They talk about their favorite places in their environment.
THE Peñíscola North Beach(Yair Merlin, second prize), the sunset of Badajoz (Juan Antequera, third prize), Costa Adeje heights (Javier Gea, fourth prize) and the Milky Way in the firmament of Yebes (Josefa Calzado, fifth prize) complete the list of the five favorite corners of Spain 2024.
The winners were chosen by a jury composed of a commission of professional tourism agents from across the country, a commission of photography professionalsand an internal commission from the organization of the event itself. The organization of the event revealed the winners on September 27, 2024, World Tourism Day.
About photography in Malgrats IslandsRubén Molina posted on Instagram that “the Northern Lights, although more shy and only perceptible on camera, were seen again on our island after a major solar storm that occurred on 08/11 which gave me, from my point of view of view, the “best night photograph I have managed to take to date”.
In addition, The competition awarded ten second prizes to images of “favorite corners” taken in Ibones de Anayet (Huesca), Gijón (Asturias), Isla (Cantabria), San Lorenzo de El Escorial (Community of Madrid), Sant Joan d’Alacant (Alicante), Sant Antoni de Portmany (Balearic Islands), Cartagena, Getxo (Vizcaya) and Zumaya (Guipuzcoa).
Eder Galdeano Arrastia also received a second prize for his photo in Garralda (Foral Community of Navarre).
Finally, the jury awarded a special mention to other favorite places in El Garrobo (Seville), Alcalá de Ebro (Zaragoza), Villacreces (Valladolid), La Alberca de Záncara (Cuenca), L’Estartit (Girona), L´Alcora (Castellón), Santa Pola ( Alicante), Betanzos (A Coruña), Ibiza (Balearic Islands) and Gorbeia Region (Alava).
