Protesters in Tbilisi attacked the headquarters of the ruling Georgian Dream party

Protesters in Tbilisi smashed the windows of the ruling Georgian Dream party’s office on Rustaveli Avenue and threw stones and eggs, RIA Novosti reports.

After special forces used a water cannon to disperse the protesters, the protesters moved away towards Rustaveli Avenue, but did not disperse. Participants in the demonstration lit fires with improvised means and threw firecrackers and fireworks towards the security forces. Law enforcement officers arrest the rioters.

The situation in front of the Parliament building is calm; Security forces have completely cleared the area. At the same time, the special forces are still on Rustaveli Avenue.

Recent fights have resulted in casualties, including protesters, media representatives and law enforcement officials.

The Georgian Interior Ministry has not yet revealed the exact number of detainees and victims.
