Several US government agencies have launched an interagency investigation into the prison where rapper and producer P.Diddy (Sean Combs) is awaiting trial. This is reported by the Associated Press.

The publication describes this New York prison as “dysfunctional.” It is clarified that this step became necessary in the context of increasing attention in connection with the stay of the celebrity in prison, as well as numerous reports about the terrible conditions of detention of prisoners, rampant violence and numerous deaths on the territory of the penitentiary center.

The purpose of the investigation is stated to be “to achieve the maintenance of a safe environment for both staff and inmates.”

Let us remember that the rapper is in the famous MDC prison in Brooklyn without the right to bail; The court has already twice refused to release Diddy on the proposed $50 million bail. This facility is located in the industrial part of Brooklyn. It is primarily used to detain people awaiting trial in federal courts in Manhattan or Brooklyn. Additionally, defendants serve short sentences in this prison after being found guilty by the court.

As reported EADailyDiddy was arrested on the night of September 16. Their homes in Miami and Los Angeles were searched.

The musician was accused of sex trafficking, organizing criminal activities and transporting people for prostitution. He denies all charges.

Prosecutors say P.Diddy used his business empire, including his Bad Boy Entertainment record label, to transport women and men across U.S. state lines to participate in recorded sexual performances called Freak Offs.

Diddy, in turn, accused federal prosecutors of leaking pretrial information that deprived him of his “right to a fair trial.”

It was previously known that the rapper’s trial was scheduled for May 5, 2025. Prosecutors are now examining video recordings from approximately 90 devices that were seized from Diddy’s homes during searches.

According to the lawyer Tony Buzbeewhich represents the interests of the victims, among those affected by the hip-hop mogul’s actions are approximately 120 people, 25% of whom were minors at the time of the crimes.
