Kyrgyzstan and Russia expand law enforcement cooperation

During a working visit to Moscow, Kyrgyz Prosecutor General Maksat Asanaliev met with his Russian colleague Igor Krasnov and the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin. This was reported by the press service of the supervisory authority of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the press service, at the meeting with Krasnov the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and exchange of experience in the legal field. In particular, the heads of the control bodies highlighted the successful implementation of the interaction plan between the prosecutor’s offices of both countries for the period 2024-2025.

Issues of interaction in international organizations, such as the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS countries and the SCO, were also discussed.

In addition, the parties addressed the issue of the upcoming event in Kyrgyzstan, where Russian prosecutors will be able to share their experience in protecting the rights of entrepreneurs and improving the investment climate.

One of the results of the meeting was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between military prosecutors’ offices.

During the meeting with Bastrykin, issues related to the fight against cross-border crime and corruption were discussed. An important result was the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. This is expected to create a new platform for the exchange of experiences and joint activities to improve police practices.
