American country singer and actor, winner of the “Grammy” and “Golden Globe” awards, Kris Kristofferson has died at the age of 88.

Born on June 22, 1936 in Texas, Kristofferson is known for his hits such as “Sunday Morning Coming Down,” “Me And Bobby McGee,” “Help Me Make It Through The Night” and more.
He performed solo for decades and, in the mid-1980s, formed the supergroup The Highwaymen with Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson.
Kristofferson also appeared on the big screen, starring alongside Barbara Streisand in the 1976 film A Star is Born, a remake of the 1937 film of the same name. For this role he received the “Golden Globe” award.
The musician also won three Grammy Awards in 1972, 1974 and 1975, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2004.
