Israel continues its massive campaign of bombings against Lebanonwhich has also hit in recent hours the heart of Beirutinside first air attack against the Lebanese capital since the start of hostilities with Hezbollahalmost a year ago. An air attack which resulted in the death of three leaders of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
The bombing, carried out at dawn on Monday, targeted a residential building in the Cola district of Beirut, with a Sunni Muslim majority, which until now he had not been the target of attacks Israeli airstrikes have repeatedly targeted the southern Beirut suburb known as Dahye, a stronghold of Hezbollah.
In a statement, the PFLP indicated that the three victims were Muhammad Abdul Aalmember of the political bureau of the Palestinian faction and head of the military security department; Imad Awdamember of the military department of the Front and its military commander in Lebanon; and the chef Abdul Rahman Abdul Aal.
“The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, in bidding farewell to its heroic martyred leaders, promises them and all the martyrs of our people and our nation that will continue the path of struggle and resistance until the occupation is swept away, no matter how long it takes and no matter how great the war,” he added in the statement.
Israeli forces have yet to comment on this action which has triggered all the alarms as Lebanon continues to hold its breath following the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli bombardment. Until now, Lebanon’s capital was not within the range of Israel, which repeatedly bombed Beirut’s southern suburbs last year.
At the same time, the Islamist organization Hamas also reported on Monday the death of its leader in LebanonFatah commander Sharif Abu Al Amin, in another Israeli attack in the south of the Arab country in which he said his wife, son and daughter-in-law also died.
