This weekend’s anticyclonic situation will continue this Monday, with slightly cloudy or clear skies across the country and the possibility of some interval of easterly winds in the strait and southwesterly winds on the coast northwest Galicia.
According to forecasts from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), no precipitation is expected, although the northwest of the peninsula is expected to be affected by the passage of a front that will leave cloudy skies in Galicia and in the western area of Cantabria and precipitation in western Galicia, which could extend to the rest of Galicia and Asturias.
It will also leave cloudy intervals, without expecting precipitation, in the eastern Cantabrian area.
AEMET also expects intervals of low morning clouds over the northern half of the Mediterranean coasts and the southeastern interior, and a little more persistent in Melilla and the Strait area, where they could leave very little precipitation.
In the Canaries there will be cloudy passages to the north of the islands with greater relief and slightly cloudy or clear skies in the rest.
In addition, there will be morning mists and fogs in Galicia and the western end of the Cantabrian area, without excluding that they will be persistent on the Galician Atlantic coast, and fog banks are not excluded in the lower Ebro, pre-coastal. areas of Catalonia and in the southeast interior and possible light haze in the extreme south of the peninsula, Ceuta and Melilla.
Temperatures will increase practically everywhere on the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, especially maximum temperatures in the eastern interior of the peninsula and minimum temperatures in the mountains.
Only in the Cantabrian Sea a decrease in maximum temperatures is expected. Additionally, there will be few changes in the Canary Islands.
The wind will blow from the east in the southern half of the Mediterranean with some strong easterly intervals in the strait, and southerly winds will predominate in the northern half of the Mediterranean.
In Galicia, the wind will blow from the west tending towards the southwest with strong intervals on the coasts, and in the Cantabrian Sea, from the west tending to be light variable, and light variable within the peninsula , and moderate trade winds in the Canary Islands.
