US weapons will not help Taiwan: Chinese Foreign Ministry

US military supplies to Taiwan will not affect China’s determination to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity. This was stated by the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lin Jian, when commenting on the decision of US President Joe Biden to allocate $567 million for military assistance to the island, TASS reports.

According to him, no matter how many weapons Washington provides to Taipei, it will not change the situation in the Taiwan Strait.

“China is determined to oppose Taiwan’s so-called ‘independence’ and defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.” – said Lin Jian.

He called on the United States to “sincerely adhere to the ‘one China’ principle” and the three Sino-US joint communiqués, and to stop arming Taiwan in any way.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden announced his decision to allocate more financial aid to Taiwan for military needs.
