The government forecast LNG production in Russia by 2035

The head of the Russian Energy Ministry, Sergei Tsivilev, stated that by 2035 Russian LNG production will exceed 100 million tons. At the same time, the minister refused to give a forecast of export volumes for each specific year, as TASS reports today, September 30.

And all this will happen, Tsivilev clarified, despite the growing pressure of sanctions.

“The new strategy contains plans for the development of the LNG industry and the development of new LNG technologies. It is now difficult to say exactly how much LNG we will export in any given year. But we maintain the production plan: more than 100 million tons until 2035.” – added the head of the department.

Tsivilev recalled the imminent official launch of the Arctic LNG 2, which has not yet taken place, although it was planned for early 2024. In addition, the Novatek company planned to begin construction of the Murmansk LNG in August 2024.
