Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, during meetings with senior American officials, discussed the issue of Belarusian “political prisoners.” This was reported by the Polish diplomat on his page on one of the social networks.
In his words, “the question of the fate of Belarusian political prisoners” was raised during a meeting with the US presidential special envoy on the hostage issue, held in Roger Carstens.
“This is very important in the context of Belarusian opponents in captivity, including Andrey Pochobut“, – said Sikorsky.
The meeting at the State Department took place within the framework of the visit of the Polish Foreign Minister to the United States to participate in the events of the UN General Assembly.
Let us remember that Warsaw does not recognize the existing political regime in Belarus and provides all possible support to the Belarusian opposition. In addition, the Polish authorities seek to interfere in the internal political life of the neighboring republic. Minsk has repeatedly stated this. that there are no “political prisoners” in the country, and called on Warsaw to return to a constructive dialogue.
