“The necessary measures are being taken to adapt the Azerbaijani army to the Turkish model.”
According to the report, Azerbaijani Defence Minister Zakir Hasanov made the remarks at an event in Baku marking Turkey’s Victory Day.

The Minister noted that a number of joint events in the field of military construction are taking place today:
“These measures will continue. Our joint activities serve to protect peace and stability in the region. During the 44-day war, the people of Azerbaijan fully felt Turkey’s support.”
The Minister stressed that relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are at the highest level. He recalled that from the first day of the beginning of the Patriotic War, the people of Azerbaijan felt Turkey’s support for our just cause:
“Turkey’s political and moral support at that time is an example of unity between the two countries. Today, Azerbaijan-Turkey relations are based on alliance relations according to the Shusha Declaration. Mutual trust between the armies of the two countries strengthens our unity. It serves to protect peace and stability in the region and improve the well-being of our peoples. Technologies have increased the operational capabilities of our army.”
