Sandu sent the police to disrupt the start of Vlah’s election campaign – EADaily, September 30, 2024 – Politics News, Moldova and Transnistria News

The leader of the Moldova Platform opposition party, Irina Vlah, announced the start of her election campaign last Sunday at the “Heart of the Dniester” viewing point in the town of Naslavcea, but the event was interrupted. The presidential candidate and her followers were blocked by the police.

According to the politician, the current head of state is behind these actions Maia Sanduwho fears fair competition. He added that the fear of losing power pushes the regime to carry out provocations.

“The police blocked our way and did not let us enter the place. I became the only candidate for whom the authorities tried to disrupt the start of the election campaign. “I repeat what I have said more than once: it is an honor for me to be the main enemy of the regime that led Moldova to the abyss.” – said Vlach.

He appealed on social media “directly to whoever ordered this provocation,” warning that this would not scare them. Vlah emphasized: “Sandu’s end is near because he is afraid.”

“The outgoing president invites us to experience fear, discord and destruction in Moldova. The current regime is already yesterday. On October 20 (presidential election day), we will turn this page and begin to restore the country.” – said Irina Vlah.

He promised that he would continue to hold his event: he would start the campaign in Naslavce, the northernmost point of Moldova, and end it at the southernmost point, in Giurgiulesti.

“From the Dniester to the Danube, this is our path that will end in victory. We are already accustomed to the difficulties imposed on us by the authorities and we will do this too. Maya, it’s time to pack the yellow backpack and leave (yellow is the party color of Sandu and the PDS). And we will put in order everything you have done during these four years.” — concluded Irina Vlah.

As reported EADaily Vlah had previously said that Maia Sandu would “cling to power by any means necessary,” and law enforcement, PDS-controlled city councils and the “yellow press” were instructed to “prepare provocations and create obstacles.” According to her, Sandu considers Gagauzia’s former boss her main electoral competitor, whom she “will try to intimidate or silence.”
