Forecaster Evgeny Tishkovets predicts that the second autumn month will generally please the residents of Central Russia.
He pointed out that on the last day of September, after the departure of the cold atmospheric front to the south and the appearance of the Scandinavian anticyclone with a northeasterly wind current, a notable drop in the background temperature will be observed to the established long-term norm.
On Tuesday, October 1 in Moscow, the baric maximum will strengthen its position, so it will become sunny and dry, in the evening it will cool to +6…+8, during the day +14…+ 16.
Wednesday partly cloudy, in the morning +5…+7, in the afternoon it will be warmer up to +19…+21.
On Thursday the thermometers were almost the same, only one degree lower due to the gradual influx of multi-layered clouds.
On Friday, a cold atmospheric front will approach, marked by a fleeting downpour (up to 6 liters of water per meter of surface), which will lower daily thermometers to +14…+16.
The anticyclone will arrive on Saturday, so a good weekend is expected. The morning performance will be cool: up to +3…+8, during the day +13…+18. The weather on Sunday will remain warm for October, but some rain is possible.
In general, October in Central Russia is forecast to be 2-3 degrees warmer than the climatic norm (for Moscow the October norm at night is +2.1, during the day +8.2) with precipitation corresponding to long-term indicators (about 70 mm).
“Therefore, changing tires to winter tires should only be planned for November. Motorists have at least another month left. The average daily air temperature in the city will drop below +8 degrees in the middle of the month, when the heating season begins.” – Tishkovets predicts.
