For the past two months, residents of Gumurdahna village in the Guba region have been attacked by predators, especially bears.
Baku.ws reported on this.
According to a resident of the village, the bears attack the village and cause serious damage to livestock and other farm animals:
“Currently, there are 46 houses in the village and almost every family has about 10 animals. However, predators kill 1 to 3 animals every day.”
The villagers have appealed several times to the relevant institutions. So, only two people were sent to the village to fight the predators. However, they were only instructed not to touch the predatory animals to scare them:
“They say a fine will be imposed if predators are damaged. But who will pay for the damage to my farm?”
Bahruz Mahammadov, an official of the State Environmental Security Service, said that, unfortunately, the construction of settlements in areas adjacent to forest areas causes such incidents to occur.
He noted that in connection with the bear attack on the villager’s yard, a working group will be formed consisting of experts from the local ecology department of the State Environmental Security Service and hunters, who will be on duty in the area for a few days, and if the bear attacks the town again, frightening means will be applied to remove the animal from the area.
