García-Page and Lambán do not support Pedro Sánchez to be re-elected secretary general of the PSOE

The regional presidents of Castile-La Mancha and Aragon, Emiliano García-Page And Javier Lambanrespectively, did not give their approval to the President of the Government, Pedro Sanchezfor his re-election as secretary general of the PSOE during the 41st Socialist Congress next November.

As sources close to García-Page confirmed to EFE, the Castilian-Manchego did not want, as I did not on previous occasions, to participate in the primary process in which Sánchez was the only candidate to have submitted an application for the General Secretariat of the PSOE.

For his part, Lambán did not give his approval to the head of the Executive either, according to sources close to the Aragonese president who did not specify the reasons.

Sources of PSOE Consulted by EFE, they did not provide details on the support of the rest of the regional presidents or the socialist leaders.

Sánchez, the only candidate for this position, has obtained the necessary endorsements to be re-elected to the position of Secretary General and will be ratified as such during the 41st Socialist Congress next November in Seville.

As the PSOE reports in a press release, Sanchez obtained “the maximum number of supports authorized for his candidacy for re-election”, which, according to the party’s internal regulations, is at 6% of the census.

Once the primary process and the collection and presentation of support have been completed, the congress calendar continues with the designation of territorial delegations and debates on amendments to the Framework overview (the document on socialist policy for the coming years which will be sent to the socialist groups so that they can add amendments).
