The Kyiv Ballet returns to Castilla-La Mancha and will stop in six cities

Unicef and promoter Goldberg have teamed up for the third year in a row to support children and families affected by the war in Ukraine, raising funds through the kyiv Ballet’s tour of Spain. Until the end of February 2025, the promoter will allocate one euro to Unicef from the value of each ticket sold.

The tour of the kyiv Ballet, which performs works such as “Swan Lake”, “Don Quixote” and “The Nutcracker”, will stop in fifty cities, including six in Castile-La Mancha: Tomelloso (October 9 ), Ciudad Real (October 29), Albacete (October 30), Toledo (November 24), Talavera de la Reina (December 5) and Cuenca (February 5).

In 2022 and 2023, more than 187,000 spectators filled theaters across the country, helping to strengthen Unicef ’s work to ensure that children in Ukraine, but also those refugees in neighboring countries, continue to have access to health care, protection, education or alcohol. water. The funds raised through the tour, more than 281,000 euros, enable Unicef, for example, to support the health of 660,800 children for three months with basic medical equipment and supplies.

“Every day, the war continues to have devastating consequences for more than seven million Ukrainian children: forced to flee their homes, have their education interrupted or have difficult access to basic health care. This alliance is a commitment to children and their families and a clear example of how cultural sector organizations can mobilize resources and raise awareness of critical situations such as the war in Ukraine and its effects on children and families. explains Marta López Fesser, head of business alliances at Unicef Spain.

For his part, Viktor Ishchuk, artistic director of the kyiv Ballet, believes that “it is a great responsibility and a wonderful opportunity to do something good for children, especially in these difficult times that we are living in my country. We deeply appreciate the work of Unicef and the support of the public who attend our show. After each performance, we feel the happiness and affection of people, not only as spectators, but also as people who appreciate our efforts.
