US President Joe Biden’s administration plans to tighten sanctions and take other measures against Hamas to free hostages from captivity. This was stated in a statement by the spokesman for the White House National Security Council (NSC), Sean Savett.
“The war in Gaza will end tomorrow and the suffering of Gazans will end immediately and would have ended months ago if Hamas had agreed to release the hostages.” – says the statement in the video published with the hostage, an American-Israeli citizen Eden Alexander.
Savett also noted that the US administration is “in contact” with Alexander’s family, who are being held hostage.
According to the NSC representative, President Biden and the United States will continue to work for the release of captive citizens, including through diplomatic efforts and increased pressure on Hamas terrorists through sanctions, police actions and other measures, Izvestia clarifies.
