Discord and Google services received million-dollar fines in Russia

The Tagansky Court in Moscow fined Google LLC 3.5 million rubles. This was reported by the joint press service of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction on the Telegram channel.

“Google was found guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (failure to delete information, access to which is subject to restrictions in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation ), “ – says the message.

The same court fined the Discord platform a similar amount. The service was brought to administrative liability under Part 2 of Article 13.50 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (failure to fulfill obligations by the owner of a social network).

According to the Mash telegram channel, the service refused to remove information containing LGBT propaganda*.

As reported EADailyIn July this year, Google was already fined 5 million rubles for refusing to comply with the instructions of Roskomnadzor (RKN).

It was clarified that we are talking about non-compliance with RKN’s order to delete information “confusingly similar to information, measures to delete which the owner of the social network is obliged to take on the basis of a previously submitted request.”
