Israeli army launches wave of ground raids in Lebanon against Hezbollah nests

Israel has already launched a wave of ground incursions this morning against the infrastructures of Hezbollah terrorists near the border between Lebanon and Israel. This is what the North American State Department says.

“That’s our understanding,” the State Department spokesperson said. Matthew Millerasked at a press conference whether Israel had begun ground operations.

“We have been informed that they are currently conducting limited operations against Hezbollah infrastructure near the border,” he noted.

Precisely, this Monday, the Israeli Armed Forces declared “closed military zone”, an area located on the border with Lebanonthey therefore prohibited access to civilian personnel. The area includes the municipalities of Metula, Misgav Am and Kfar Giladi, very close to an area on the Lebanese side of the border that was subjected to intense artillery bombardment during the day.

This information was released in the middle of speculations of the last days of the imminent entry of Israeli military ground forces into Lebanese territory and when the Israeli government’s security cabinet meets at the headquarters of the armed forces in Tel Aviv, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israel has increased its bombings on Lebanon since mid-September and has killed many of the leaders of the Hezbollah militia party, including its secretary general, Hasan Nasrallah, who died last Friday in a bomb attack in Beirut.
