The Pamplona Municipal Police created a new citizen service focused on solving neighborhood conflicts this can happen. This is a community mediation office in which They will be able to address problems of coexistence, noise, odors, construction, health, animals. or the use of public spaces, among other aspects.
This free tool aims to facilitate conflict resolution in a consensual and voluntary manner, avoiding recourse to judicial and administrative procedures which can take time and be financially costly.
The new office will be temporarily open in the Irunlarrea street number 17 A, low, and will be monitored by officers from the community policing group, who have received specific training in this regard.
These agents will act as mediators, attentive and listening to the versions of everyone involved deal with a certain conflict impartially and try to reach an agreement acceptable to all parties.
The key to this new conflict resolution tool lies in the voluntary participation of the parties when they use it. For this service to be successful, the those involved must go voluntarily and be receptive to the solution proposed by the Municipal Police officers.
This service is offered as a pilot experiencewhich is structured according to the principles of neutrality, impartiality and confidentiality. It has a preventive nature, designed as an alternative to sanctioning solutions. Through this mediation we will seek to resolve neighborhood conflicts and thus promote peaceful coexistence, by focusing on dialogue and social cohesion.
Access to this service can be done through the community police of each neighborhoodbut also directly by requesting mediation through a request or request before the Municipal Council or the Municipal Police Headquarters. In addition, the various municipalities will be able to direct people towards this conflict resolution tool, if they deem it necessary. After analyzing each case, it will be assessed whether it is suitable for mediation or, on the contrary, whether these are issues that must be resolved through legal means.
When mediation is chosen, Mediation by two community police officers will be assigned to each case.who will act as instructors of the cause.
Once collected all information and after meeting all parties involvedas many joint sessions as agreed will be held to help the parties reach agreements and solutions themselves. The final agreement will be signed by everyone. However, instructors will monitor and control compliance with agreements made.
New mediation and police coexistence team
To serve this new service, it was created within Municipal Police, a mediation and police coexistence team. This team is made up of Community Police officers who hold a university degree or higher level professional training, and who have also received specific training in mediation.
It is expected that there will be between five and six agents assigned to the Mediation Officeto be able to respond to requests that arise, even if the number may vary depending on demand.
