As confirmed by sources from the local Valencia police, officers received a first call from 112 this Saturday around 3:30 a.m., warning of a fire on the fifth floor of the Sidi Saler hotel, closed thirteen years ago. years.
After verifying that flames were coming out of the balcony of one of the rooms in the north block of the hotel, on the fifth floor, the El Saler Park and Valencia firefighters were called, totaling seven units who put out the fire at 4:30 p.m.
According to the same information, it turned outor the room has completely burned where the fire broke out and three rooms as well as the corridor were also affected, although there were no injuries reported.
For the moment, warns the police, the origin of the fire has not been located and it is believed that it could have been caused by one of the squatters of the building since it lacks electricity. They found neither the perpetrators nor the possible victims and after extinguishing the fire, the firefighters carried out ventilation work in the building.
All this comes just after neighborhood complaints led the local Valencia police to increase raids and increase surveillance throughout the El Saler area, where some of these squatters were even seen in bathrobes and even on trains to shower on the beach.
