“Children and people with gastrointestinal diseases should not eat mushrooms because they contain chitin.”
Oku.AzAs reported by “RIA Novosti” with reference to “RIA Novosti”, Russian expert Galina Volkova warned about this.
The therapist pointed out that chitin is a poorly digestible substance.
“Therefore, the consumption of mushrooms is not recommended for people with gastrointestinal diseases (especially in the acute phase). The consumption of mushrooms is also not recommended for people with allergies and children,” says the expert.
According to Volkova, mushrooms should be included in children’s diets as they grow. If we suddenly start feeding children these products, chitin can make it difficult for them to absorb other nutrients.
