The effects of DANA continue, causing devastation particularly in the province of Valencia, where at least 92 people have died. The Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET) launched a new alert on Thursday, particularly in the provinces of Tarragona and Castellón, and lifted the alert in the latter due to “extreme risk”. They ask not to travel unless strictly necessary due to the heavy rains that persist in the region. These are the roads that are still closed due to the storm at the moment, according to the General Directorate of Traffic, which updates all the information on its website:
In Valencia
The DGT continues to ask, through its official communication channels, to avoid as much as possible travel in the province of Valencia, with a good part of its main roads affected by the latest floods, with piled-up cars and destruction on roads and surrounding areas. . Additionally, Traffic explicitly requested not to travel to this province for the bridge.
“The recommendation is that they do not try to enter or exit because they make our priority tasks difficult,” Transport Minister Óscar Puente said at a press conference this Thursday.
Here are the roads most affected by the cuts:
- A-3 to Chiva and La Torre
- A-7 to Carrascalet. The A-7 is affected at several points: also at L’Alcudia, Picassent, Montortal and Benifaio
- N-3 to Villar de Olmos, Utiel and Siete Aguas
- V-30, V-31 and CV-36 at Horno de Alcedo
- V-31 on chair
- CV-33 in torrent
- CV-50 in Chiva, Turis, Vilamarxant and Llombai
- CV-35 in Cruz de Gracia
- AP-7 in Oliva
The DGT recommends not to travel on the road in this region, in the province of Castellón, in the southern zone of Tarragona and in the western zone of Cádiz.
In Castellón
AEMET raised the alert level this Thursday for Castellón and warned that “DANA continues”, with this province at the red level due to “extreme risk”. For the moment, the A-23 is closed near Barrancas, although other cuts could occur throughout the day.
- There are also affected sections on other roads: total cutoff in both directions on the CV-130 from kilometer 4 in Albocasser to kilometer 8 in Trig
- CV-1486 is also flooded and traffic is interrupted at kilometer 0 in Borseral.
In Cuenca and Albacete
- In Cuenca, the A-3 remains closed in all its sections, towards Valencia, at Atalaya del Cañavete and passing through Minglanilla.
- In Cuenca, the A-35 to Almansa

- Teruel: the A-23 in the capital of Teruel
- Zaragoza: the A-2 to Ariza
- Granada: the A-92N at Venta del Peral
- Cádiz: the AP-4 in Guadalcacín
Regarding other transport such as the train, Minister Óscar Puente indicated that, as with the railway, part of the high-speed tunnel between Madrid and Valencia “has disappeared”, so this traffic will not resume until, at least , “two or three weeks.
