The keys to the PP conciliation law which will reward companies for public contracts

He People’s Party will present this Tuesday his Proposed law on family conciliation and joint responsibility in Congress. A new measure with which those of Feijóo seek to guarantee that companies that apply conciliation measures that go “beyond what the law minimally requires” have “an additional assessment when they embark on a call for ‘public offers’.

But what are the keys to this conciliation law? Among the measures included in the law, the ‘popular’ propose “the creation of a national conciliation prize and co-responsibility to raise awareness in society of the importance of this issue and reward good commercial and social practices, or that companies that apply conciliation measures beyond what the law proposes will have a higher value for the markets public.

Even if this is not the only measure announced by the PP in recent days. The Deputy Secretary for Equality, Conciliation and Social Policies of the PP, Ana Alós, listed some of them as “free universal nursery schools from 0 to 3 years oldthe extension of paternity and maternity leave, the recognition of single-parent families and the extension of their leave, bonuses for the caregiver contract for large families and single parents, an improvement in the recognition of large families, an aid plan to facilitate the return to work of women who have left their job to look after children or relatives, and also for the self-employed an exemption two years of social security contributions.

He also highlighted others, such as “the development of flexible schedules and the creation of banks of hours which workers can use according to their needs, by improving the tax treatment of families, updating the maternity deduction and establishing a direct aid plan for families with dependent children” or “special attention” for families with specific conciliation needs, among others, “for families with disabled people among them or with dependent minors suffering from chronic illnesses and also for civil servants who have children with serious illnesses, for families in vulnerable situation, for families living in rural areas and also especially for host families.

Set up flexible hours

The PP also indicated that the regulations will include measures that will help companies implement time flexibility, the bank of hours or work permits, which the formation of Alberto Núñez Feijóo wants to analyze with companies. In addition, the most popular will propose that companies that extend the measures envisaged by the regulations obtain an evaluation in public calls for tendersas Alós announced this Monday.

In recent days, the PP has declined some of the measures that its proposal will contain, such as free nursery schools from 0 to 3 years old, the extension of paternity and maternity leave and those for single-parent families, or even bonuses as well that large, single-parent families hire caregivers or help so women can return to work.

The PP also relies on measures which allow the working day to be concentrated over four days, as Feijóo announced last week, or the increase in maternity allowances and deductions, with also the possibility for self-employed workers to be exempt from paying fees for two years. To raise awareness, the PP is also considering the creation of a national conciliation and co-responsibility prize “to raise awareness in society of the importance of this issue and reward good commercial and social practices”.

The aim is that “no one has to give up work to keep busy” and that “families have quality time to share”. “Those of us who come from previous generations have deeply internalized living to work (…) however, new generations increasingly value time and have changed the philosophy by proposing to work to live. say work less. They want work in a different way,” Alós explained.

The other measure the PP is working on is the housing law, which the PP will propose in the coming days. “We are going to present a housing law which responds to real problems, which moves away from the banner because in terms of management and in particular in terms of housing, the policy of the banner brings more problems”, declared Sémper at this about.
