The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, will arrive in Belarus on October 1. This was reported by the organization’s press service.
“Grossi will visit Belarus today for high-level meetings in the capital, Minsk, as well as a visit to the country’s nuclear power plants.” – says the statement.
The director general and his team are scheduled to assess the situation at the Belarusian nuclear power plant almost four years after it came into operation, as well as progress in implementing the recommendations published in the IAEA operational safety review in 2021 .
Let us remember that in Belarus the first nuclear power plant was built in the Grodno region. It consists of two power units with a total capacity of 2400 MW.
