In Germany, a woman seriously injured passengers on a bus with a knife

A woman attacked passengers on a bus in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with a knife, writes the Siegener Zeitung. As a result of the attack, five people were injured, three of them are in critical condition.

The 32-year-old attacker was arrested;

The attack took place at around 7.40 p.m. on a bus of the R22 route travelling from Neunkirchen to Siegen on the occasion of the city’s festivities. There were about 40 people on board.

The attacker was allegedly under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Police said they had no reason to consider the attack a terrorist attack.

“There is no threat to the population” – said the police representatives.

A festival is taking place in Siegen to mark the city’s 800th anniversary.

Last week there was an attack in Solingen, Germany, in North Rhine-Westphalia, during the 650th anniversary celebrations. Three people were killed and eight more were injured. The 26-year-old Syrian confessed to the attack and was arrested. He is suspected of belonging to the Islamic State.* (IG*recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in Russia). Islamic State* claimed responsibility for the attack in Solingen. According to Der Spiegel, the Syrian moved to Germany at the end of 2022 and applied for asylum.
