Czech Foreign Minister resigns

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky submitted a request to cease membership in the Pirate Party and confirmed that he would submit his resignation from the post of Foreign Minister to the head of government. This was reported to his party colleagues on his Internet forum.

According to him, he respects the results of the vote by party members to end the presence of “pirates” in the government. However, he does not agree with the departure of the “pirates” to the opposition and in some aspects he disagrees with the party’s opinion.

“I also disagree with a number of things that were said at the press conference in the Chamber of Deputies last week. That’s why I’m taking this step.” – he pointed out.

Let us remember that after the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala proposed expelling the president of the Pirate Party from the government Ivan BartoshThe “pirates” announced their withdrawal from the government coalition. The prime minister later said that Lipavsky could remain in the cabinet as a non-partisan member if all four parties in the government coalition agreed.
