The Movement Against Intolerance reports to the Prosecutor’s Office the incidents that occurred during the derby

The Movement Against Intolerance filed a complaint with the state attorney general’s office to investigate serious incidents who performed last Sunday at the Cívitas Metropolitano during the Madrid derby in which objects were thrown and racist chants coming from the south where there are the ultra supporters of Front Atlético.

The complaint states that the investigation into the reported facts is carried outto the purification of criminal responsibilities that could arise therefrom, as well as to intervene in the investigation of subsequent actions to prosecute them.

The association sees in criminal acts the commission of several offenses, in particular offenses of provocation to discrimination, hatred and violence; degrading treatment; and illicit association, among others.

We see it as aggravating circumstances executing him treacherously; committing the act through disguise, with abuse of superiority or taking advantage of circumstances of place, time or the help of others which weaken the defense of the injured party or facilitate the impunity of the criminal; as well as having committed the crime for racist reasons.

During the match, racist insults were made against Real Madrid player Vinicius and others against goalkeeper Courtois, called a “traitor”, “son of a bitch”, “Courtois dies” and other insults which can easily be found in the south of the stadium.

The League collects up to 17 violent songs. “Some supporters at the back of the stands displayed neo-Nazi symbols, either on their bodies or on banners, including the famous Celtic cross,” the complaint states.

According to the association, the Jupol police union made public confirmation of the presence of hooded menspecifying “that some of them came down from the stands, were on the field, with neo-Nazi symbols, an image which crossed borders”.

After Real Madrid’s goal, part of the background that located the ultras started throwing objects at goalkeeper Courtois. The referee stopped the match, sending the players to the locker room while the members of Atlético discussed with the ultras to be able to resume the match, after 15 minutes of suspension and a serious disturbance of public order.

At that time, the security forces could not enter because the Club “he did not want to deploy the National Police at that time”made public the Jupol union.

“After the end of the match, the denigrating acts against the goalkeeper Courtois continued, since he noticed the destruction of the goalkeeper’s plaque on the march of sporting legends, full of spit, garbage, in addition of its breakage,” adds the complaint.
