The Madrid Audiovisual Cluster, “engine of innovation”, starts with the participation of 76 companies

The Madrid Audiovisual Cluster started this Tuesday from the Cineteca de Matadero Madrid with the aim of boost the industry and generate alliances public-private with the current participation of 76 companies.

The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martinez-Almeidaand the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sports, Mariano de Paçowere responsible for presenting this alliance, in collaboration with the president of the Madrid cluster, Raúl Berdoneswhich counts on the participation of institutions, companies, associations, universities and schools with the aim of promoting the development of the sector.

In his speech, Berdonés highlighted the growth of almost 40 percent of the members of this cluster that wants to become “innovation engine” and transform the sector, with a focus on internationalization, partner attraction, networking and potential alliances that can be developed.

For his part, the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, recalled how the cluster was born since the pandemic at a time when the sector was “aware” that I needed a platform articulate with the different actors through synergies. “In this center, I see the future and the talents,” he underlined.

In the same spirit, De Paco stressed that this cluster “has continued to grow” and highlighted its essential role in structuring the sector in the region. This commitment will go hand in hand with the strategic plan of the audiovisual sector in which the Community of Madrid works to generate “jobs and talents”.

120,000 euros and 59 founding partners

The Regional Executive allocated 120,000 euros to this non-profit entity, which has 59 founding partners. Its objective ands increase the competitiveness of local businesses dedicated to the entertainment industry (cinema, animation, television, video games, among others) and promoting research, development and innovation projects.

The Community of Madrid increased a 15 percent shooting of which it was the scene in 2023, with more than a thousand productions and repeating another year as the region with the greatest audiovisual activity in all of Spain.
