The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recorded some 40 rocket launches from Lebanese territory towards northern Israel on Friday evening, some of which were intercepted, the army’s press service reported on Saturday.
“After the sirens sounded between 22:26 and 23:02 in the Western Galilee area, some 40 projectiles were identified as having been launched from Lebanon towards Israeli territory. Some of the projectiles were intercepted and several fallen projectiles were also identified. There were no reports of casualties.” – says the press service.
IDF artillery attacked the fire sites. Earlier, according to the army, the Israeli Air Force attacked several Hezbollah launch sites in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army regularly reports the killing of senior Hezbollah commanders and operatives in airstrikes in southern Lebanon. The movement responds to each such attack with massive bombardments of northern Israel, firing dozens of missiles and drones. Often, the bombardments from Lebanon spark fires in northern Israel, where hundreds of hectares of land have already been burned.
