“It is obvious that such a measure adopted by Israel’s political-military leadership after the assassination of several Hezbollah leaders will lead to a further escalation of violence in the Middle East region. “Russia strongly condemns the attack on Lebanon and calls on the Israeli authorities to immediately cease hostilities, withdraw troops from Lebanese territory and begin a real search for peaceful ways to resolve the Middle East conflict.” – says a statement on the website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As reported EADaily Tonight the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) began carrying out “limited, localized and selective raids” against Hezbollah targets “in the southern border area of Lebanon.” The ground forces are supported by the air force and artillery.
