The Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) has organized a special lane more than 85 kilometers long on 29 streets and avenues of Baku.
Oku.Az AYNA reported on this.
It was reported that the new bus lane network is implemented within the framework of the mobility transformation program. Buses circulate on these lanes up to 70,000 times a day and nearly 900,000 passengers are transported comfortably and without obstacles. Giving priority to the bus allows more passengers to be transported.
“In the next stage, the organization of more than 100 kilometers of bus lanes is planned in order to guarantee continuity, building a network of chains that covers residential areas and important transport corridors. Bus lanes guarantee regularity, maintain intervals, increase the attractiveness of public transport routes and increase confidence in it. The new route network prepared to increase its accessibility is implemented together with the new bus lane network,” it reads.
