did not establish a “secret working relationship” with the Malinche interns

A report prepared by the Labor Inspectorate determines that there was no “secret working relationship” between Nacho Cano and the 17 Mexican trainees who starred in his musical. Malinche. This spectacle is the subject of an investigation by the national police.

The report was sent to Court of Instruction number 19 of Madridwhich is investigating a case of alleged crime against workers’ rights. This offense is punishable by up to six years in prison.

Nacho Cano is also under investigation for allegedly encouraging the irregular entry of 20 Mexican dancers, who allegedly participated as workers in the show. The law firm defending the artist, Cremades & Calvo Sotelo, claims that the young people were legally in Spain at all times.

The report, put forward by The world and to which EL ESPAÑOL had access, emphasizes that “there is no evidence that indicates that the practices developed by the trainees involve a hidden employment relationship, but rather that said practices were intended to complement the theoretical training of the scholarship holder“.

The musician and his lawyers have repeatedly explained that the young Mexicans arrived in Spain on scholarships. They did not have the status of workers and their presence on the site was a testimony.

“Without notice”

Inspectors from the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy detail the inspection they carried out “without notice” at the Cano musical show on June 27 in the parish of San Juan de la Cruz.

The surprise inspection was carried out at the request of investigators from the central district station of the national police, where the investigations are carried out. Upon arrival, the young people received “singing, theater, flamenco and personal training lessons”.

The work indicates that they interviewed the young people. They talked about how they arrived in Spain and the requirements set by the musical and by Nacho Cano.

At the end of the report it is added that “the fellows are not under the responsibility of the organization and management of the businessman to obtain a performance that results in obtaining fruits for the development of the musical.” Malinche in Madrid.
